Team Telindus at the finish
A team of 19 riders from Telindus completed their 260 mile cycle from their offices in Camberley to their HQ in Brussels raising £20k.
Team Telindus set off from their offices in Camberley on the 21 June with great support from all of their staff and customers alike. The cycle ride took four days and saw the team of 19 riders and 4 support staff cover a distance of over 260 miles.
With great support from all of their staff and customers Team Telindus have surpassed their initial fundraising target of £10k and raised over £20k including gift aid.
The cycle ride came about as a result of a mad capped idea from Telindus Solutions Architect Paul Sweeney who was diagnosed with cancer in 2009. Support for the idea grew and another 18 riders had agreed to join him on the challenge including Kevin Mott and Mark Barrett, both cancer survivors.
Paul said, ‘Our ride to Brussels in support of Macmillan has been an immensely rewarding experience, it’s amazing to see that we have raised over £20,000 for a great cause and everyone in the team has succeeded in meeting the challenge and achieving their own personal goals. A great way to spend a long weekend!’
Helene Poursain, Surrey Fundraising Manager explains, 'I have been totally amazed by the support that Telindus have given to their bike ride, encouraging staff and customers to get involved. The set off from Camberley was a great morning and everyone was full of enthusiasm and pride for their colleagues.
'I would like to say a huge thank you to each and every person that supported the team and I am truly overwhelmed by how much they have raised. £20,000 is such a wonderful total and I know that there is still sponsorship coming in which is going to make a huge difference to the lives of people living with cancer.'
