Something old, something new, something borrowed… something green
Are you tying the knot? Would you like your big day to help people affected by cancer have more good days?
There are plenty of ways that you can support Macmillan at your wedding or civil partnership.
If you’re looking for an alternative to a gift list, we can help you set up a Just Giving page so that your guests can make donations in lieu of gifts. Or perhaps you’re looking for bespoke wedding cards for place settings, to explain why you’ve chosen to support Macmillan, or Macmillan pin badges or key rings to give as wedding favours. Maybe you’d like to have a collection on the day – we can provide you with collection boxes and envelopes. Whatever your requirements, we can work with you to create a tailor-made wedding package which will be perfect for your big day.
Amy and Mark, who are marring on 16 July, have decided to make a donation and give their guests Macmillan Cancer Support pins instead of more traditional wedding favours.
'My dad is currently receiving chemotherapy treatment and my friend passed away a few years ago, she had a Macmillan nurse and found their support and commitment very helpful,' Amy explains. Choosing to support Macmillan through her wedding was Amy’s way of remembering the fantastic work done by Macmillan’s nurses, as well as raising awareness among her friends and family. 'Obviously I talked to my dad about the idea and he loved it. He thought it was a very thoughtful and lovely gesture.
'Macmillan is now my family’s preferred charity and is very close to our hearts. All I can say is I can’t wait to be sitting next to my Dad on my wedding day. I will be proud of us all wearing our pins in support of Macmillan.'
