We are Macmillan. Cancer Support
Local companies from Burton-Upon-Trent are invited to enter an 'It's a Knockout' competition on Sunday 22 September at Barton Marina, to raise money for Macmillan.
The event has been organised by mother-of-two Kelly Bridgett. Kelly was devastated when she found out she had cervical cancer. She took the difficult decision to have a hysterectomy, meaning that although it was likely to clear the cancer, she could not have any more children.
After campaigning for some months for the government to reduce the smear test age from 25 to 20 Kelly has decided, having been told that this is unlikely to happen in the near future, to concentrate on raising funds for Macmillan who were there for her and her family when she was going through her treatment.
On Sunday 22 September Kelly has organised the Fun Day at Barton Marina to raise money for Macmillan. The main event will be an ‘It’s a Knockout’ competition and Kelly is looking for teams of eight or ten people to take part. It's an ideal opportunity for companies in Burton upon Trent to enter and do some team building with their colleagues whilst having fun and raising money. There will also be a raffle, and lots of entertainment for the children too.
You can book a place for your team by contacting Kelly on 07974 967890 or email firstname.lastname@example.org|.
