The Polypipe team hand over a cheque for £2000
Safe working at a Doncaster pipe manufacturer has helped raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Polypipe, based on Neale Road, Edlington, Doncaster, has donated £2,000 to Macmillan as a result of a pledge to give £10 per employee to the charity when it reached 1,000 days without an accident that caused them to lose time at work.
'This scheme continues to deliver impressively' commented Polypipe health and safety manager, Jean Illingworth. 'Its a win, win, win scheme!' she added. 'The employees win as their extra vigilance means no one gets hurt, the management win as they don’t have people off sick, and the charity wins as they get cash to help fund their services!'
Local fundraising manager, Amy Hebdon added 'We really appreciate the support from Polypipe and the extra care employees have taken at work to ensure the money was raised for us. £2,000 could fund a Macmillan Nurse Specialist for two weeks to help support those affected by cancer.'
