Howells Solicitors has joined forces with Macmillan Cancer Support to exclusively offer a free will-writing service during October to the people of Sheffield.
For a limited time only, Howells will waive their fees for simple wills, and instead will encourage clients to make a voluntary donation of £50 per single will and £80 per double will to Macmillan Cancer Support.
96% of Macmillan’s funding comes from voluntary donations, over a third of which is from gifts in wills. Without these vital donations the development of cancer support services across the UK, such as a new information and support project with Age UK Sheffield to improve the quality of life for older people with cancer and increase their independence, would not be possible.
Angela Galvin, Head of the Wills and Probate team at Howells Solicitors said: 'Howells is very proud to volunteer our legal expertise to help Macmillan Cancer Support. The money raised from this free will-writing initiative will help Macmillan to provide vital support services to people affected by cancer.'
Rob Turner, the local fundraising manager at Macmillan said: 'We are extremely grateful to Howells for supporting Macmillan through this initiative. Whether people choose to donate now, in their wills or both, their support is vital to ensuring that more services like Macmillan small grants provided to people in financial difficulty because of their illness will be available to future generations of people affected by cancer in Sheffield.'
