Playing rounders conjures up memories of school days past, but it's going through a resurgence in popularity and Macmillan is looking for teams to pitch themselves against one another in a charity rounder’s tournament.
Rounders in the Park will take place at Endcliffe Park, Sheffield on Sunday 30 June from 1pm - 4pm. We're looking for teams of eight to sign up to the competition. There'll be afternoon tea and a raffle, with all proceeds going to support local people affected by cancer.
A rounders player from the England team will also be attending to provide tips and tactics as teams compete to lift the trophy and be crowned champions.
Rounders in the Park is sponsored by G & M Plastering Services, South Yorkshire Welding Supplies and Sapphire Hardware and is being organised in association with Rounders England.
Michele Golland from Rounders England commented, 'Rounders is easy to play and people from all walks of life can enjoy the sport together regardless of experience, fitness and ability. We hope to have a fun day whilst helping to raise money for Macmillan and to encourage people to take part in the game of Rounders.'
