Local baker Lynne Morgan is raising funds for Macmillan in Shropshire by selling her flapjacks through honesty boxes in businesses throughout the county.
Lynne Morgan sells a range of cakes and flapjacks through her business Baked For You. In Spring 2012 she decided that she would like to use her baking skills to help raise funds for Macmillan, and the idea of flapjack honesty boxes was born.
Lynne has already placed over 100 boxes in businesses around the county. Each box holds around 30 flapjacks, which cost £1 each. Macmillan receives 18p for every flapjack sold. Lynne checks the stock of each box regularly and tops them up when needed.
Rachel Cooper, Shropshire Macmillan Fundraiser, is happy to have Lynne’s support.
'This is a great way to raise money for Macmillan. The flapjacks taste great and we are delighted that Lynne has chosen to support Macmillan and help raise funds to support local cancer patients. The boxes are proving so popular that one company who received their box on a Friday, phoned Lynne on the following Monday to have the box topped up as they had sold all the flapjacks over the weekend.'

Macmillan relies on voluntary donations for 96% of its income, without the support of local people and businesses we would not be able to fund our cancer services.
