Join in with the magic of Christmas
What makes Christmas special to you? Is it the smell of the tree, the taste of your first mince pie, the face of someone opening a special gift or the opportunity to remember or celebrate someone special?
Can you write a short story or poem about the ‘Magic of Christmas’?
We are looking for children and adults of all ages to take part.
Your entry should be in the region of 500 to 750 words long.
The winning piece of work will be included in Macmillan’s, Celebration of Christmas carol concert, held in Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford on Friday 10th December 2010.
In addition, winners will receive: Four VIP tickets to the carol concert, invitations to the post concert cocktail party and their winning piece of work published in the concert programme. It will also be featured on the Macmillan Oxfordshire website as well as featured in press releases to local media.
Entries are open to all ages.
Entrants should either, live, work or attend a school, college or educational institute within Oxfordshire to be eligible.
Your entry can be as short as you like and in the region of 500 – 750 words long.
Your entry should be submitted to: Macmillan Cancer Support, Oxfordshire office, 3D Grange Mews, Station Road, Launton, Oxfordshire, OX17 3AH. Or by email to Oxfordshire@macmillan.org.uk.
Please state your full name, age (if under 16), address, telephone and email address (if you have one) and your connection to Oxfordshire.
Closing date for entries is Friday 29 October 2010.
Winners will be announced no later than Friday 26 November 2010.
The winner will be notified by telephone and in writing. Details of the winner will be posted on the Macmillan website, www.macmillan.org.uk/oxfordshire
The judges decision is final. No further correspondence will entered into. There is no cash alternative. The winner waves all copyright and associated fees, should there be any, to Macmillan Cancer Support.
