Thank you Co-op Collection Success

The Jet Set fundraising committee for Macmillan Cancer Support would like to thank everyone who so generously donated to their recent collection at the Co-Op in Whitby.

A magnificent total of over £700 was raised and Sally Millington, Fundraising Manager, is delighted. ‘This really is a fantastic amount raised in a difficult economic climate and we are so grateful for the support. 1 in 3 people are affected by cancer. 2 million people are living with cancer across the UK.  Macmillan is funded solely by voluntary giving, so you know that the money donated will make a valuable difference to people affected by cancer. We can offer practical, medical, financial and emotional support to people during what could be the toughest time of their life.'

Sally says ‘people have been so kind in making their donations. I would like to thank all of the volunteers who have so generously donated their time to help us make the most of this opportunity and raise such an amazing amount. Also I would like to thank the Co-op for allowing us to hold our collection in their stores.’
