Doing all in their power to fundraise, Minster Law staff in Wakefield and York are giving even more this Christmas as they continue with their quest to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Staff plan to organise an array of Christmas fundraising, including taking part in Macmillan’s Christmas Counts campaign where staff will donate money they would have otherwise spent on Christmas cards and wish everyone a merry Christmas on a central poster in their offices.
This is just extra activity to the events they have already hosted this year on and off site. Many staff have taken part in walks, runs, abseils, skydives, a talent show and a range of on-site raffles, cake sales and competitions. The firm have raised nearly £36,000 since May 2012, including a donation of £20,000 from the company directly. The fundraising is in response to Minster Law’s determination to have a positive influence in the community, with a focus on corporate responsibility.
Minster are now hoping to deliver their target of £50,000 by April to help Macmillan provide vital services, such as grants to people affected by cancer with everyday living, heating bills, a family shop or a much needed break.
Commenting on the ongoing partnership, Jenny Wain, Senior Communications Manager at Minster Law says: ‘We are thrilled with how much we have raised so far, and it is great to be able to help Macmillan and the hard work that goes into supporting both people diagnosed with cancer as well as their family and carers.’
Macmillan’s Fundraising Manager for York and Yorkshire Dales, Robyn Mountain Wade, said: 'It's great to see how Minster Laws staff embrace all things fun to help make a difference to people affected by cancer. Whether they are festively decorating the office, selling Christmas treats or hosting a party, we really appreciate all their fantastic activities to raise money for Macmillan.'
