Three cheers to the New Inn and the residents of Tholthorpe who have made a donation of over £2000 to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Husband and wife team, Cameron and Dionne Reid, run The New Inn set in the picturesque village of Tholthorpe, and have been raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support for several years, with help from the regulars and locals.
Cameron explains how everyone has raised such a magnificent amount, 'We raised the money in a variety of ways including the fortnightly quiz, golf events, and donations for music provided at discos and events. The regulars have really helped and supported us with our fundraising.'
Sally Millington, fundraising manager for Macmillan says, 'This is an absolutely incredible amount of money and we are so grateful to everyone who has helped to raise it. We really do appreciate every penny. More than one in three of us will get cancer. For most of us it will be the toughest fight we ever face. And the feelings of loneliness and isolation that so many people experience make it even harder. With this donation, we will be able to reach more of the people who need us, and help them with the support that they need; whether it is medical, financial, emotional or practical support from our team of nurses, benefits advisors, and Macmillan professionals.'
