Macmillan mascot Muggy has been creating charity coffee morning fever in Pocklington and urging Pocklington locals to take part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning takes place on Friday 28 September where people across the UK - and sometimes further afield - hold a coffee morning and donate to Macmillan. In 2011, 51,000 people signed up to coffee morning, raising a record £10 million. This year, Macmillan Cancer Support wants to raise even more money to help change the lives of people affected by cancer and so are looking for lots of local people from Pocklington to take part.
One in three of us will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lives. Macmillan’s team of local Macmillan Professionals including nurses, GP’s, dieticians, social workers, benefits advisors and information managers, work to support local people affected by cancer. The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning takes place on 28 September and the money raised will help the charity continue to make a difference to people living with cancer in the East Riding region.
Local people from Pocklington can get involved by registering for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. They can visit www.macmillan/org.uk/coffee, phone the hotline on 0845 602 1246, email email@example.com, or text COFFEE to 88080. Alternatively, people can find a coffee morning near them by visiting http://coffee.macmillan.org.uk/How/Find/Findacoffeemorningnearyou.aspx.
