We'd like to thank everyone who so generously donated to the recent collection at Morrisons in Malton.
Macmillan held a collection at Morrisons in Malton from Monday 12 November to Thursday 15 November and raised an amazing total of £2,320.
Sally Millington, Fundraising Manager, says: 'I really would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported our collection: the people who were so generous with their donations, Morrisons in Malton and all their staff for allowing us to hold the collection, and all of the volunteers who so kindly donated some time to help us raise this money. We couldn’t do it without them.
'It really is a magnificent amount and we are so grateful to everyone who has made a donation. 1 in 3 people are affected by cancer. Over 2 million people are living with cancer across the UK. Everyone knows somebody who has been affected by cancer, and it's the toughest fight most of us will ever face. But you don't have to go through it alone. The Macmillan team is with you every step of the way and the money raised through the collection means we will be able to reach more people when they need us.
'We are always looking for people to help us with our fundraising. Coming up on Friday 21 December, The local Rotary club are organising a bag packing day at Morrisons in Malton, and they have kindly given Macmillan two tills for the day. If you could help us for an hour or two, please do get in touch.’
