Sophia with Fundraising Manager Paul Fleet
We're delighted that a fundraising dinner and auction organised by local supporter Sophia Waters has raised over £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Around 60 guests attended the event, which was held at the Norfolk Riddle restaurant on Sunday 16 October. After enjoying a delicious meal and listening to our Fundraising Manager Paul Fleet speak about the vital services provided by Macmillan, diners took part in an auction. Just some of the fabulous prizes on offer included a hot air balloon flight, a set of paintings by local artist Gary Haigh, a cookery demonstration by Naomi Hansell and a hamper from Walsingham Farms shop. There were also signed items from pop star Justin Beiber and comedian Roy Hudd. Sophia, who will be running for Team Macmillan in the 2012 London Marathon, was inspired to raise funds for Macmillan following the support received by her mother, Jenni, who is living with myeloma. We'd like to extend a huge Macmillan thank you to Sophia for her fantastic fundraising achievement, as well as to all the staff at the Norfolk Riddle and Walsingham Farm Shop for their help with the event and to all who donated prizes.
