Former professional football referee Graham Poll helped tee off Chalcroft Construction’s charity golf event, which raised over £1,200 for Macmillan Cancer Support
The construction company, which has a Kings Lynn branch but works across the UK, held the event at Barnham Broom golf course. Mr Poll, who retired in May 2007, joined guests for a round of golf before giving a speech at the evening meal.
Chalcroft’s Client Relationship Manager, Tess Morley said: 'The golf tournament has turned into an annual fixture and we were delighted to have had Graham as our special guest. We’re grateful to all those who attended and gave generously to a worthy cause.'
Paul Fleet, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan, added: 'We are hugely grateful to Chalcroft for helping us fundraise during our centenary year; £1,200 could fund a Macmillan nurse for over a week, provide seven Macmillan grants to help cover the costs of travel to hospital for treatment or provide over 2,000 copies of Macmillan’s Understanding Chemotherapy leaflet.'
