Fourteen brave men have volunteered to be auctioned off for a day at the Wildman pub in Norwich this Saturday, March 5
The 14 volunteers made up of staff and regulars from The Wildman will be going under the hammer in this charity auction organised by Ian Shannon. Proceeds will be split between Macmillan and the Jenny Lind children's ward at the Norwich and Norwich University Hospital. 'It should be a really good laugh on the day,' said Mr Shannon. 'I did one at the first pub I ran in Essex and it went really well. Once I'd told some regulars about it after I'd decided to do it, it was all they could talk about. People immediately started volunteering.' The pub's landlord Gordon Thwaites was recently diagnosed with cancer, making Macmillan a cause close to the hearts of the Wildman's staff and regulars. Mr Shannon's mother was also diagnosed with cancer and received support from Macmillan nurses. So, if you fancy buying yourself a man for the day to do all your household chores for you, be at The Wildman at 3pm this Saturday.
