Anne Hurst, Kathleen Maguire and Edith Berry organised their fifth fundraiser for Macmillan.
They raised an outstanding sum of £5,000 at Orrell St James Club in September 2011. There were a host of top attractions including stalls, a raffle, dancers and a brass band. In the 5 years that the friends have chosen to support Macmillan the total raised tops £16,425, an outstanding sum of money which supports the vital work of Macmillan in every community.
Anne said: 'We chose Macmillan because nearly every family is affected by Cancer. It was a really good evening and we would like to say thank you to everyone who supported it. We didn’t think we would make as much as we did so we are absolutely delighted.'
