Local Artist, Anton Dolders
Local artists contributed their work to the art exhibition at 'Oh! You Pretty Things!' on Victoria Road, Crosby on 5 April. And many of the proceeds from this successful event went to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The gallery which opened seven months ago, hosted the exhibition on 5 April 2012 which featured work of local artists including Anton Dolders, the Lydiate based artist and other North West artists. All artists agreed to give the charity a quarter of the proceeds from the sale of their work at many exhibitions across the Southport area.
Anton, 40, said he wanted to support the charity after his work was featured in a group exhibition raising funds for Macmillan.
Anton said: 'I like the fact the charity is home bred and based so you know the money isn’t going to get lost at an airport or be spent on overheads. And since I got involved in the charity and have been talking about it I’ve become more aware of just how many people are suffering from cancer'.
As Southport FC’s official artist Anton is regularly engaged in capturing soccer themes in charcoal and pencil for display at the club, with a percentage of the sales price going to Macmillan Cancer Support.
