The Folly Inn
The Folly Inn held a special Coffee Morning on Good Friday to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Customers were invited to The Folly Inn on Westerleigh Road from 10am until 11.45am on Friday 6 April to enjoy tea or coffee and a hot cross bun all for £2. All money raised on the day will help Macmillan support people living with cancer.
Samantha Spencer, Duty Manager at The Folly Inn said: 'We thought this would be a great way to kick off the Easter weekend and raise money for a really worthwhile cause. Whether you’re a regular customer or have never visited us before we’d love to see you here.'
Local Macmillan Fundraising Manager, Sadie Moore said: 'Every day five people are diagnosed with cancer in Bristol and itis the toughest fight most of us will ever face, and that’s why events like this are so important. A big thank you to the team at The Folly Inn and to everyone who raises a hot cross bun for Macmillan on Friday.'
Macmillan Cancer Support has more than 60 medical professionals in the Bristol area, including Cancer Nurses with specialisms including skin, lung and breast cancers. The cancer charity has five caseworkers based at the Bristol Citizens’ Advice Bureau helping people through the financial difficulties they face as a result of their diagnosis. They assist patients and their families with applications for benefits such as disability allowance and bereavement benefit. They also provide one-off grants for practical costs such as travelling to hospital.
