A new Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre is now open at North Manchester General Hospital, and provides a drop-in centre for anyone looking for information about cancer, and support for people affected by cancer.
People wishing to use the service can either call in during opening hours (Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm) or ring the centre on 0161 604 5244. The centre is a confidential, friendly, supportive, informal and non-clinical environment and as well as providing information is somewhere people can just talk to someone about what they are going through.
It is staffed by a Macmillan Information Service Manager, Macmillan Information Assistant, and trained volunteers. Many of the volunteers working in the centre have themselves had experience of cancer.
