Fundraising Manager Paul Fleet meeting the team at Mapus Smith & Lemmon
We're delighted that local accountants Mapus Smith and Lemmon have raised over £8,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support during 2011.
Staff originally set themselves a fundraising target of raising £5,000 by collectively completing cycling, running and walking challenges.
On Saturday 30 April, 19 cyclists covered over 950km. On Sunday 1 May , 6 runners completed the Grand East Anglia Run for another 60km. And on Monday 2 May, 24 employees and 11 family friends collectively walked over 685km.
This gave grand total of over 1,695km travelled over the three days - actually greater than the distance from Lands End to John O' Groats (1,407km)!
The final total raised from the generous donations of clients, staff, family and friends came to over £8,500 (including gift aid).
We'd like to extend a huge Macmillan thank you to the team at Mapus Smith and Lemmon for all their hard work in raising such a fantastic amount in celebration of our Centenary
