Amongst this years riders was a team from local business DCS Europe. DCS have supported this year’s event in a number of ways from the sponsorship of jerseys to providing much needed car parking space!
The Chairman of DCS, Denys Shortt said: 'This is a great event and we are delighted to support MacRide. We have managed to get Gillette involved too with sponsorship of medals and rider numbers.'
Ride organiser Rob Gullen was thrilled to see even more riders take up the challenge this year helping raise the much needed funds to provide practical, medical and financial help for people affected by cancer.
Rob said: ‘This year's event, the seventh, was the best yet - we've worked really hard year-on-year to improve every aspect of the ride from the online entry system, to the on-the-day check-in and the all important route signage. We are really hoping that all the hard work will pay off and see even more raise then last year’s £50,000’.
Date for the diary- Next year’s MacRide and Shakespeare 100 will take place on 9 September 2012.
