The Haslemere & District Committee would like to congratulate the owner and staff of Eden Hair & Beauty in Weyhill, who kindly gave up several hours of their leisure time on Sunday 27 May to raise money for Macmillan, by donating all the proceeds from their annual Fun Day, themed this year on "The Best of British".
With some help from a Macmillan Bric a Brac Stall, they raised over £1500 by snipping, polishing, and beautifying customers, and by raising temperatures even higher than the weather men had forecast. The street barbecue proved very popular, and thanks must also go to the various local stores who gave their support so generously.
It was a marvellous opportunity to have fun, and raise money at the same time. The sincere thanks of the Committee go to all involved, especially of course to Eden's Angie Townsend, who arranged it all so efficiently.
