Justin McCormick is a keen cyclist and has a plan to raise money for Macmillan.
This summer he is organising a charity bike ride, in honour of one of his close friends, Matt, who tragically died at Christmas. Matt was diagnosed with cancer in September 2009, however he refused to accept his fate and fought his illness with all his strength. Sadly he lost his battle with cancer on December 15 last year.
In honour of Matt’s courage, a group of friends are going to cycle from Lands End to John O’Groat’s to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. They have chosen Macmillan as it was Macmillan who looked after Matt when he was at his most ill.
The people who will be involved from start to finish are Justin McCormick, Robert Mitchell and Mark Wragg. There will also be other riders joining in along the route at Bristol and at Manchester who will complete either one or two day rides to raise money. All in all this will be a great challenge for worthy cause!
They are setting off on June the 6 this year. If you would like to sponsor the team for the ride please visit their Just Giving site: http://www.justgiving.com/justin-mccormic|
