Sarah dones her Team Macmillan shirt
Macmillan supporter Sarah Butcher will be running the Wilmslow Half Marathon to help improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
Despite breaking her ankle three years ago, Sarah is running against the odds and is determined to complete the gruelling half marathon on 27 March. The event falls on a very special day for her, as it marks the one year anniversary of her grandmother’s death from breast cancer.
Sarah hopes to raise as much money as possible in memory of both her grandmother and her grandfather, who she lost to colon cancer in 1998. Her family’s experiences of cancer have inspired Sarah to raise over £830 for Macmillan so far, an amazing sum will fund a Macmillan nurse for nearly one month.
This is Sarah’s first Half Marathon, and all of us at Macmillan are wishing her the best of luck. To add your support to ours, please visit www.justgiving.com/Sarah-Butcher3 to sponsor Sarah.
We’re delighted to be Charity of the Year for the Wilmslow Half Marathon. To find out more, please visit www.wilmslowhalf.org.uk.
