Runners of 2011’s Paddock Wood Half Marathon have raised more than £6300 to date for Macmillan Cancer Support.
This fantastic amount could help to fund a Macmillan nurse for more than six working weeks, meaning that patients affected by cancer get the important advice, information and support that they need.
Fundraising Manager Laura Kennedy says “We want to thank everyone who helped make this event such a big success for Macmillan. We would like to extend our gratitude to all our runners, cheerers and companies including Warburtons, whose team raised over £1,000! It will be a huge help to local people affected by cancer.”
Laura adds, “We would also like to thank the Paddock Wood Half Marathon Committee for their further donation of £1,000. We really appreciate the extra support that this provides.”
If anyone still needs to donate their money, please remit your outstanding donations by sending a cheque to the Kent Fundraising Office at 20 Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, Kent ME16 8RT.
Running is a great way to keep fit and active whilst helping to change people’s lives. Why not get involved in another running event for Macmillan? Upcoming events include the Tunbridge Wells 10k race on 18th September and the Folkestone Rotary Half Marathon on 25th September.
