Big Yellow Storage in Tunbridge Wells has donated £1,230 in storage space to Macmillan Cancer Support over the last year.
Macmillan, who no longer have a local office in Kent, were offered storage space by Big Yellow in early 2012 as part of their commitment to local charities.
James Knott, Assistant Store Manager for Big Yellow Storage, said, 'Here at Tunbridge Wells we are always keen to help local organisations and we were delighted when the partnership was set up with Macmillan. The team of fundraisers approached us for storage as it was easily accessible and safe and we were only too happy to offer assistance.'
The relationship between Big Yellow Storage and Macmillan will continue into 2013 and be utilised by their local team for necessary materials and items.
Kent Fundraising Manager, Moira Mitchell, said, 'We are really grateful to Big Yellow Storage for their generous donation of storage space. We have a great deal of materials that are needed for this job and without an office we often find ourselves struggling to find somewhere to keep items other than in our cars.
'The storage space they have offered is perfect and the amount of money that they have saved us is enough to fund a Macmillan nurse for over a week providing support to cancer patients and their families. Thank you to the Tunbridge Wells branch and their staff.'
