Three local golfers who have called their team 'The 3 Putters' are taking Macmillan Cancer Support's 'Longest Day Challenge'. Team Captain, Martin Carter said: 'I'm sure many people like me have family or friends who have been affected by cancer. Macmillan provide fantastic support to many people and need donations to continue this very valuable work. I love playing golf and I am very thankful that this is something that I am fit and able to do.'
Martin (a member at Corhampton Golf Club) and two of his best friends - Dave Cox (a member at Petersfield Golf Club) and Peter Coote (owner of Active Health Chiropractic in Cosham) are undertaking the Longest Day Golf challenge on Thursday 5 July. They aim to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer support.
The team have received fantastic support from Corhampton and Petersfield golf clubs who have helped with all the logistics. They will start their first two rounds at Corhampton at 4:30am and complete third and fourth round at Petersfield with the aim to complete before it gets dark.
