Sarah White and her family and friends enjoyed a fun-filled evening of food, drink and swishing!
A fun evening of swapping gifts and enjoying good food, by Sarah White and her family and friends, has raised £170 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Relatives and friends descended on the Buon Gusto Italian Restaurant in Southampton and each gave a £3 donation on the door in exchange for a raffle ticket that could then be swapped for a donated gift from the sharing table - unwanted gifts included designer dresses, kitchen cake stands and a whirlpool bath spa kit.
Entertainment on the night was a general knowledge quiz and fun cancer awareness games. Participants were asked to guess how many sweets were in a padded bra, in an effort to educate them on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
It was also a chance for friends and family to eat and drink good Italian food and raise money for Macmillan, with the high point of the evening being a surprise operatic performance by the restaurant's Head Chef.
Macmillan Fundraising Manager Katie Blake said, 'This is such a great idea for a fundraising event - especially when people are feeling the squeeze - it was a very low cost opportunity for people to treat themselves to some new items of clothing and have fun with friends.'
