A team of volunteers from Macmillan Cancer Support came together to form the charity’s first ever float at Notting Hill Carnival this year.
The float paraded the streets of West London over two days with La Trinity carnival band, who each year seeks charity sponsorship to raise awareness amongst local communities.
This year, Macmillan Cancer Support provided balloons, banners and information cards to members of the public along the route, whilst the team of volunteers danced to a carnival calypso sound track.
Macmillan Fundraising Manager, Simon Pedro, said: “This was a great opportunity for us to communicate with harder-to –reach groups in an innovative way, and we had a lot of fun in the process.
“I was really pleased to see how much love there was for Macmillan whilst enjoying carnival spirit. We highlighted to the crowds ways they can get involved and how they can be supported by us.
“What’s key is the funds we raise together go towards creating and maintaining vital local services for people affected by cancer in London.”
