Last year, a team of 7 from the North Yorkshire Probation team tackled Macmillan’s Yorkshire 3 Peak challenge, and helped to raise money for people affected by cancer.
Debbie Naylor from the team sums up there experience, 'We were delighted to have completed the challenge and in some way the pain and determination needed from us all was a small reminder of the tough fight so many people face every day of their lives.
When I was crawling up Whernside I thought about so many people and the struggle they face every day. I thought to myself that this bit of pain was a small but significant reminder of how fortunate I am.
I also remembered what Sally our local fundraising manager, said about the journey for people with cancer and the support Macmillan give them at every step. We could not have done the Yorkshire 3 Peaks without the people who supported us. We pulled together as a team, and the help on the day was fantastic and it made it such a wonderful weekend. Most of all seven staff members took on the unknown with sweat and tears and lots of laughs and returned with that familiar feeling of humble achievement, knowing we did it together.'
