The club raised the money through organising and playing in a charity football match. They were formed in 2006 and set up to organise football matches and sporting activities to raise much needed funds for charity.
The majority of the Guest Players are from the Chellaston area and play for Saturday teams Chellaston FC, Allenton United & Findern FC and Sunday team the Corner Pin FC and along with a number of other players they form a very strong 21 man squad.
Local fundraiser Amy Jukes commented:
'We are delighted Shelton Sports FC have chosen to include Macmillan in the charity giving. It is wonderful of the club to organise and run the football matches just for charity. We would like to thank all those who help in planning and running the matches. Without the kind help of people like Shelton Sports FC, we wouldn’t be able to help those affected by cancer. I wish the club luck with future games.'
