Donna and Lou battle against cancer and raise an amazing £1,250 for Macmillan.
Donna & Lou were given the all clear from cancer on the same day. Donna got the all clear from breast cancer and Lou was clear of lymphoma for a third year. After getting the news they decided to raise money through a race night at their local club.
This was held on the 12 October at the West End social Club in Darlington. A sell out night with over 200 attending, they had a raffle with over 50 prizes and a pie and pea supper. The night was such a success that people are already asking when the next one is!
Donna and Lou would like to thank the generosity of the everyone who came and got into the spirit of the charity night. And to everyone who donated the 50 raffle prizes that they received.
Lou had wanted to do something for charity for some time, as she had support and help from Macmillan. Lou said: 'When I was ill and going through Chemotherapy I would say to Donna when we get through this we're going to do something together for Macmillan.
Michelle Muir, Fundraising manager said: 'These two ladies are amazing raising so much money for Macmillan. It has been a pleasure supporting them.'
