Mark was at the opening of Poundland, Bishop Auckland on Saturday 11th July signing autographs and was happy to have his photograph taken to help support Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Poundland announced Macmillan Cancer Support as its charity of the year in May 2009 and committed to raising a target of £100,000 in 12 months to help improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
After an extremely successful 12 months of fundraising, smashing their target and raising over £180,000, Poundland have decided to continue their support into 2011. They have pledged to raise at least another £150k and have lots of exciting events planned over the coming months including Halloween and Christmas products and, in the New Year, a fantastic scratch card, which will give customers the chance to win a car.
