Anne Rowland handing cheque to Lindsay Kay, Fundraising Manager for Tees Valley Area
Anne Rowland, the Ladies Captain of Ingleby Barwick Golf Club, chose Macmillan Cancer Support as her Charity of the Year, and has handed over a cheque for the terrific sum of £2700 to Lindsay Kay, Fundraising Manager for the Tees Valley Area.
Ingleby Barwick Golf Club raised the fantastic sum of £2700 for Macmillan through a variety of events. Anne held a Golf Charity Day in August 2012 where golfers paid a fee and sponsored holes. Pens, key rings and badges were also on sale. Raffles and tombolas were organised with prizes donated from members, friends and local businesses. They also generated a lot of cash from a Race Night, and collecting tins were placed in the shop and the Bistro.
Lindsay Kay, Fundraising manager for Tees Valley, would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who was involved in making the Charity of the Year so successful. And most of all raising such a fantastic amount to help local people affected by cancer.
Cancer is the toughest fight most of us will ever face. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed, you need a team of people in your corner supporting you every step of the way. That’s who we are.
When the time is right, you can do something to help. We can all be part of the team. We are Macmillan Cancer Support.
