Happy shoppers help to raise £28,500
The annual Macmillan Christmas Fair, held on 14 and 15 November 2012 raised a record £28,500 for people affected by cancer.
The Macmillan Christmas Fair traditionally marks the start of the Cornish Christmas shopping season, with visitors flocking to buy gifts, traditional produce and decorative pieces from a wide and eclectic mix of stallholders. At the fair, 15% of all stallholder takings go to Macmillan Cancer Support in Cornwall.
Caroline Tetley, the fair's Chairman, said: 'We are thrilled with the support we have seen for this year’s fair. In this tough economic climate it is a huge achievement to have raised so much for Macmillan in Cornwall. And it could never have been achieved without the generous support of our sponsors and the tireless efforts of the Cornwall Macmillan Cancer support committees who work so hard to keep the event running smoothly throughout the preview evening and the day.'
