Emma Wright with some of the Cornish Pirates
During the month of Movember, when moustaches are traditionally grown, the players grew beards instead in support of Dave 'Bezzie' Berryman, a proud Vice President and Life Member of Penzance & Newlyn RFC, who has since sadly passed away.
The squad had chosen that their Movember fundraising exploits, a total of £785, be split between St. Julia's Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support, as Dave and his family greatly appreciated the caring and wonderful help they provided.
On receiving a cheque for £392, Emma Wright, Cornwall Fundraising Manager, commented: 'I'd like to thank the squad and supporters for raising such a fantastic amount of money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The money will help to give care and support to those who receive a cancer diagnosis, and to their families, here in Cornwall. We are delighted to be supported by the Pirates, and wish them all the best for the rest of the season.'
