A group of hairdressers from Wendover strut their stuff on the catwalk to raise hundreds for people affected by cancer.
The fancy frock-filled evening, that took place on Tuesday 22 September, was held by the employees of Red Carpet Hairdressing in Wendover, Aylesbury. The evening commenced with guests being welcomed into the shop with a complimentary glass of champers and the offer of purchasing raffle tickets, to be in with the chance of winning one of the many fabulous gifts kindly donated by the local surrounding businesses. From Tigi Hair Care products, to a meal for two at one of Wendover’s esteemed restaurants - there was lots to be won!
The show kicked off shortly after and the near 60 guests stood in awe of the selection of stylish delights being fashioned down the catwalk. All of which were donated by nearby Boutiques and clothes shops.
Amy Parrott from Macmillan Cancer Support attended the show and said:
‘The girls and guys did such a great job down the catwalk and all looked absolutely gorgeous. A huge thank you goes out to all of the employees, clients, and friends of Red Carpet Hairdressing who volunteered their time to make this event such a great success!’
One of the models in particular made a special contribution to the fundraiser, by taking on a bet that he would not have his hair cut the whole time he was away travelling prior to the fashion show. As you can see from the photo the long curly locks still remained therefore he won his £100.00 wager, which he kindly donated to us!
All funds raised by the raffle and ticket sales for the event were donated to Macmillan, giving us a total amount of £868 to help fund our vital services for people affected by cancer in Buckinghamshire.
A big thank you to the organisers; Angela Smith and Lisa Bartlett and well done Red Carpet!
