Chairman's Concert
An audience of over 300, plus mayors and councillors from as far as Basingstoke and Havant attended a special fundraising concert in aid Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event took place on Saturday 12 March hosted by the Chairman of West Berkshire Council, Councillor Graham Pask.
The concert, held at St Nicolas Church Newbury was organised by Bucklebury couple Daniel and Sandra Nicholls and featured their choir Enharmonic, along with soloists Josephine Goddard, Max Fane, George Groves, The Welford, Wickham School Steel Pans and the multi-talented Lucy Dundas.
Lady Catherine Stevenson, High Sheriff of Berkshire, gave an appeal on the evening which raised £1,370 through collections and over £2,000 in ticket sales.
Cllr Graham Pask with the Welford & Wickham School Steel Pans Councillor Pask said: 'This was a truly magnificent evening with a wide variety of extremely high quality music presented in a unique and fun way.'
He added: 'We are delighted to have raised so much money for this worthy cause and to have so much enjoyment in the process. Thank you to everyone who took part in and attended the concert.'
