Our trek takes us to the heart of eastern Europe to explore the remote mountain region of the Carpathians, finishing with a visit to Bucharest, the vibrant capital city of Romania.
We pass through stunning valleys and ancient forests dotted with Transylvanian castles and medieval villages. As we climb up through remote mountain passes to 2,500m you'll be rewarded with awe-inspiring views and glimpses of endangered wildlife, including brown bears. This spectacular region offers some of the best trekking in Europe.
Take a look at the activites and challenges for each day of the trek. The challenge will be tough at times but you'll return with a real sense of pride in your achievement, and you'll have found yourself loads of new friends!
Find out everything you need to know about taking on the Romania Hiking Challenge for Macmillan Cancer Support.
I completed a Macmillan trek and not a day goes by when I don't sit back and think about it. If you are enthusiastic and excited about it, the fundraising just happens. Derek, challenge participant
