Travel arrangements

 

The 2010 hikers on Mount  Kilimanjaro

All the travel elements of the event, including all flights and ground arrangements, are organised for Macmillan by Discover Adventure Limited, ATOL number 5636, and will be covered by Discover Adventure Limited's ATOL bond. Of your £550 registration fee, £100 will be paid to Discover Adventure Limited by Macmillan in respect of your travel arrangements approximately five months before the trip.

The full cost of the travel arrangements is approximately £2,350. The final payment for your travel arrangements will be taken from your sponsorship money.

You must pay on demand to Macmillan Cancer Support any increased charges (up to a total of £100) that Discover Adventure Limited may incur in providing this trip to you, as a result of, for example, any increase in fuel prices or change in exchange rates, which results in an increase in the cost to Discover Adventure Limited of providing the trip to you under these terms and conditions. 

Adventure travel - essential facts

Every reasonable effort is made by Discover Adventure Ltd, the organizers of the challenge, to ensure that the challenge is as safe as possible for all participants.

However, you should be aware that adventure travel is potentially hazardous because of the relative remoteness of the location, the high altitude, the weather conditions and the limited and basic facilities available.

The challenge can be very physically demanding. In the event of your being injured or becoming ill whilst on the challenge, medical facilities may not be immediately available and are unlikely to be of UK standard. This is an adventurous and challenging hike. The hike is conceived and operated by Discover Adventure Ltd.
