Four teams will be invited to play for the Longest Day Golf Challenge trophy on a top European course in October 2012.
We’ll look at both money raised and challenge scores to decide our finalists, and we’ll let them know during the week beginning Monday 10 September.
The final’s venue will be revealed shortly, so keep a look out here for more information.
Last year’s challenge was the most successful yet, with 335 teams across the UK raising an amazing £393,000. Because of this support, we were able to help even more people affected by cancer with services like our benefits advisers, nurses, information centres and more.
The top four teams were invited to compete for the title of Longest Day Golf Challenge Winners from 9 – 11 October 2011. The teams enjoyed two night’s accommodation at the fantastic Boavista Golf Resort and two rounds of golf on the 18-hole championship course with golf cart hire.
Congratulations to Tempus Est Ludendi who triumphed on the day leaving the final result as:
1st: Tempus est Ludendi
2nd: The Trips
3rd: HGC European Dream Team
4th: The Chanonry Divots
Macmillan would like to thank Boavista Golf Resort|, Today’s Golfer|, Golf World| and Monarch airlines| for their support of the 2011 challenge.

The Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge has been a genuinely rewarding experience on many levels and we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Qualifying for the finals in Portugal was an unexpected surprise but it proved an amazing end to an extraordinary journey. We never thought we could do something like this, it just turned out that we needed the right motivation. James Lewis, Tempus Est Ludendi - Longest Day Golf Challenge Winners 2011.
