We have a great range of animated eCards to help you brighten the day of someone special!
You can send as many eCards as you like; if you would like to make a donation, a form comes up at the end of the sending process so it is not a 'cost per card' system. Many people donate the amount of money they would have spent on postage and paper cards. If you are a UK taxpayer please don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid box.
Then if you choose to make a donation of £5.00, this will enable us to claim £1.25 in Gift Aid. A donation of £10.00 would mean we could claim an extra £2.50 in Gift Aid, whilst a donation of £20.00 would allow us to claim an additional £5.00.
At the moment, when sending a card you have to enter in each email address one at a time . This is because the system validates the email address format, as an anti-spam feature. Unfortunately we are unable to provide the facility for uploading large lists of email addresses .
What some organisations do, is setup the ecard, personalise it with the message they want to send to their list, and sent it to themselves. They can then forward that email (containing a link to their ecard) to their large list.
The current system does not include the facility to upload a logo. You can still personalise the ecard with your company's message, but there is no additional image facility.
Often this is due to ecards being sent to out-of-date email addresses that are no longer being checked. Some workplaces also have strict policies regarding receiving only known email sender addresses and will have a firewall on their server to stop all other emails. Sometimes web email addresses are temporarily unavailable because the mailbox is too full, or because the mail server is too busy.
Check your confirmation email. You should have received a confirmation email when your ecards were sent - with the subject line 'Your Macmillan ecard has been sent.' This email will tell you what addresses the card was sent to - please check that the email addresses you entered were correct. If there was a typo in the email address, unfortunately it will not be delivered successfully. (Our system validates the format of the address but is unable to check that each address works.)
Ask your recipient to check their junk email folder. While we do our best to ensure our emails are delivered, we cannot guarantee this as it varies depending on providers' settings. If your mail provider doesn't recognise the sender (ecards@macmillan.org.uk| ) it may go automatically in this folder. Most emails will remain in their junk folder for about 7 days, though again it may depend on their mailbox and/or provider's settings. If sending to a workplace email address, your recipient could ask their IT department if the email was blocked, and if so, to release it.
You can forward the link in your confirmation email ('Your Macmillan ecard has been sent'). This email always contains a link to your ecard - so don't delete this email until you're sure the ecard has been received.
If you wish to re-send any cards , you don’t have to donate again. Leave the donation amount field blank at step 4, click Send card, and your cards will be sent. The send is not dependent on the donation.
Every day another 822 people around the UK receive a cancer diagnosis. If you make a donation for sending a Macmillan eCard, you are helping to provide the practical, medical, emotional and financial support they need. If you are a UK taxpayer please don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid box.
