Macmillan palliative care nurses bring comfort to people’s lives when they need it most. Help us to raise money to provide more palliative care nurses to support over two million people who are living with cancer in the UK today.
It costs £191 to fund one of our nurses for a day. If you are able to help, please give a gift| to provide more nursing care for people living with cancer.
In the UK, over 150,000 people die from cancer every year. Unfortunately, many of these people do not receive the support they deserve when they’re nearing the end of life.
At this very difficult time, it’s also very common for the dying person’s family and friends to be given little, if any, emotional support and bereavement counselling.
By giving a donation today, you can help to change this. Your money will help us train more Macmillan palliative care nurses who will bring comfort to people’s lives when they need it most.
Our palliative care nurses are specially trained to optimise the quality of life of people with an incurable cancer. They do this from the time a person hears they have the illness, during their treatment, and until they no longer need help.
They also provide invaluable support to the family, friends and carers of people diagnosed with advanced cancer, helping them to understand the illness and what may happen over the coming weeks and months.
