<p begin="00:04" end="00:09">I've been here about two and a half years now and I work on the Macmillan Support Line.</p>
<p begin="00:10" end="00:15">A lot of what we do is trying to work out what types of information people need.</p>
<p begin="00:16" end="00:22">Because Macmillan is here for everyone affected by cancer we take a huge range of calls.</p>
<p begin="00:22.5" end="00:24">We take calls from people that are worried about symptoms, </p>
<p begin="00:24.5" end="00:30">all the way through to people trying to talk to their children about their diagnosis,</p> 
<p begin="00:30" end="00:33">and the possibility that they're not going to be here next year.</p>
<p begin="00:34" end="00:37">Now obviously we can't do that alone, we have got specialists, </p>
<p begin="00:37" end="00:40">we've got benefits specialists on our line as well, </p>
<p begin="00:40" end="00:42">and we've got nurse information specialists. </p>
<p begin="00:42" end="00:49">So if we feel that the call is about all those medical jargon things that you don't really know about we put it through to the nurse.</p>
<p begin="00:50" end="00:54">And if we find it's about financial issues where you're really struggling with money</p> 
<p begin="00:54" end="00:57">then we can put it through to the benefits officers and they can help you.</p>
<p begin="00:59" end="01:04">We don't just deal with the patient, we deal with everyone affected by cancer.</p>
<p begin="01:05" end="01:09.5">So it could be that sisters, mums, dads, children call us talking about their feelings,</p>
<p begin="01:09.5" end="01:13">or wanting more information to support the people affected by cancer.</p>
<p begin="01:13" end="01:14.5">It doesn't just stop with one call, </p>
<p begin="01:15" end="01:23">we hopefully build that relationship into Macmillan so that they see us as this big group of people that really are there all the way through.</p> 
<p begin="01:23" end="01:29">From their nurses in the hospital all the way through to us at 7 o' clock at night at the end of the telephone. </p> 
<p begin="01:29" end="01:30">We're absolutely here.</p>
<p begin="01:31" end="01:36">So it's those bits of information at the right time that make all the difference in the world.</p>
