Discretionary Learner Support

This is available in colleges and sixth form colleges to help those aged 19 or over with learning costs.

The funds are prioritised for those facing financial hardship. They can be used to help with:

financial hardship and emergencies
childcare costs (for Ofsted-registered childcare)
accommodation costs, for those who have to study a certain distance from home
essential course-related equipment, materials and field trips
travel costs.

How can I apply?

You'll need to apply through the college or learning provider.
