How we produce our information|
Cancer can cause people to feel stressed and anxious. Stress and anxiety can sometimes cause physical symptoms such as a sensation of a lump in the throat, chest pain, a dry mouth|, breathlessness|, or feeling sick|. People often worry that these physical symptoms are due to the cancer or its treatment. If you are a family member or friend, you may worry that you might have cancer. It can sometimes be difficult to tell what is causing the symptoms and this can make you even more worried.
If you have any symptoms and you are not sure what is causing them it’s best to talk to your cancer specialist, GP, specialist nurse or our cancer support specialists| who will be able to reassure you. If necessary, your doctors can do tests to find out what is causing the symptoms.
