Find out how we produce our information|
If you have any problems with your diet you can ask to be referred to a dietitian at your hospital. Your GP can also refer you.
Qualified dietitians are experts in assessing dietary needs for people who are ill and they can review your diet. They have comprehensive knowledge about food and eating, and can advise you on which foods are best for you, and also whether any food supplements would be helpful for you. Many other people offer advice on diet or nutrition (eg nutritional therapists), but any training or professional practice they have may be unregulated.
You can also look at our list of other helpful organisations| who offer help and support related to cancer.
