Stem cells can be taken from the blood or from the bone marrow
The conditioning regimen is given before donor stem cell (allogeneic) treatment, so that donor stem cells can grow in your bone marrow and make new blood cells
Preparing for your transplant from a stem cell donor
Donated stem cells will be given through your central line or implantable port into a vein
