Together we have launched Strength in Style| - a brand new initiative offering men, women and children affected by cancer specialist support and advice on hair care.

Staff taking part in the programme have undergone training to help them deal with the emotional and practical issues surrounding the sensitive nature of hair loss and hair thinning due to cancer treatment, including specialist training on wig fitting and styling. With 102 salons across the country currently offering the service and three training programmes scheduled again this year, we are hoping to have even more salons trained up.

The initial consultation is free of charge where you can talk to a specially trained stylist,  this includes guidance and advice on any hair care and styling techniques going forward.

Toni Mascolo said: 'With over two million people living with cancer in the UK, TONI&GUY has the opportunity to make a huge impact on people’s lives.  That’s why we’ve been working with Macmillan to offer this new service to our customers.

'We’ve learnt that for some people, hair loss can be one of the hardest parts of cancer treatment, so we’re very excited to be able to offer the best hair care advice and support for people affected by cancer.'

Staff from TONI&GUY and Essensuals salons will also be fundraising throughout the year to raise money to help the Macmillan team provide vital support and services by throwing their own fundraising events for Macmillan throughout the year and joining Macmillan’s 22nd World’s Biggest Coffee Morning|.
